Corporate Gifts

The MAS is actively seeking to create and foster strategic partnerships with industries committed to furthering STEM education in Massachusetts and across the country. Corporate funds not only help us achieve our misson; they allow us to expand the reach of our public relations and marketing, increase our membership and create opportunities for underserved populations to experience science education and outreach activities. Corporate gifts help us deliver dynamic public programs and incredible traveling exhibitions, which bring a sense of excitement that great science is occuring in Massachusetts.

Currently, the Academy seeks to work together with relevant industries in the following ways:

Corporate Partnerships

Is your company looking to invest in an organization that is highly skilled in facilitating innovative partnerships between science industries, research institutions, science teachers, college students, and the general public? Here at the MAS, we believe that by working to create the abovementioned partnerships and collaborations, we invent dynamic activities and and communities that mutually benefit from each other.

What is the ultimate goal?  By satisfying our objectives to improve STEM education and STEM workforce development, we satisfy our over-arching goal: to increase civic science literacy.  When Massachusetts residents are empowered with scientific knowledge, their decision-making is well informed, their voices are strong, and their communities are recognized; they have a direct hand in how science affects their daily lives.

Corporate Sponsorship

Is your company looking to sponsor an event, and in turn gain ample opportunity for advertising and recruiting top STEM students and professionals? Our annual meetings are very well attended, attracting the best and brightest students from across the state to take part in a day of science discovery. Take advantage of this simple way to bring your company the visibility it needs to continue to attract highly qualified candidates to further its success.

We request to meet with company representatives individually to create a sponsorship package that is best suited to their needs and desires. Therefore, we ask that you contact us to inquire further about how the Academy can help you reach your goals as you provide the necessary support for us to carry out a state of the art event.

Below are three opportunities for organizations to consider for sponsorship purposes; all events will provide ample advertising and recruiting opportunities, as well as media coverage, professional photography, and more.

  • Annual Meetings

Our annual meetings have been a huge success! We held our first meeting in 2009 and were so lucky to be able to host Bill Nye the Science Guy as our first-ever keynote speaker! We also hosted Tom Riccardi with his impressive Birds of Prey. We drew a great crowd, made wonderful connections, and celebrated the Academy's commitment to STEM education reform in the Commonwealth.

The Academy's second annual meeting was held at the premier Museum of Science, Boston in April 2010. We hosted Robert Pflugfelder "Science Bob", a noted Massachusetts educator for an astounding presentation for our younger audience, and Mr. Carl Zimmer, noted science writer and author delivered our keynote address. Our friends and colleagues, Science Club for Girls, BeyondBenign, TERC, many representatives from UMass Amherst, and of course our 2010 Interns wowed our attendees with a private event, and we even got to catch an IMAX movie, "Dinosaurs Alive!"

  • STEM Education Reform Summits

The MAS prides itself in reaching out to teachers, educators, school administrators, principals, and anyone with a stake in the way STEM subjects are taught to our future workforce. The Academy strives to make STEM education a priority in the state legislators' agendas, and we held our first STEM Education Reform Summit in April 2009. The Summit resulted in the Academy's first publication, "The Next Steps to Improving STEM Education in Massachusetts."

  • Teachers' Voice: MAS Meets the Teachers of Massachusetts

Many initiatives that seek to improve the quality of STEM teaching do not adequately address the needs and desires of the people in the front lines - the teachers. We want to know what teachers really need. Do they need resources, books, more time to teach, or more professional development? Are we missing pieces that are crucial to their success in the classroom? Our initiative, "Teachers' Voice: MAS Meets the Teachers of Massachusetts" is designed to gain insight into the difficulties teachers experience. The Academy will hold regional teachers' meetings twice per month across the state. Teachers will have the unique opportunity to share with the Academy what's really going on in the classrooms, and the Academy will have the strong voice of Massachusetts' teachers behind them as we move forward in STEM education reform.

The end result of this initiative will be a white paper that will present the conversations from the Teachers' Voice initiative along with recommendations for reform. Help fund this initiative and learn how your organization can partake in programs that are highly likely to inspire change at a fundamental level.

We request to meet with company representatives individually to create a partnership package that is best suited to their needs and desires. Therefore, we ask that you contact us to inquire further about how the Academy can help you reach your goals as you provide the necessary support for us to carry out a state of the art event!
